Which devices are supported?

The current public scope is iOS and iPadOS 18 or later, plus Apple silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later.

Which systems are supported?

FC / NES, SFC / SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Genesis / Mega Drive. N64, NDS, and 32X are not currently listed as supported.

Why are there no games in the app?

Nova Retro provides the emulation runtime only. It includes no games and offers no downloads. Use the system file picker to import game files you legally own.

What if an imported game does not appear?

  1. Confirm that the file belongs to one of the six supported systems.
  2. Use the add button in the app to select the file again.
  3. Check that the file is still in its original location and accessible in the system Files app.

Where are saves stored?

Games, saves, and settings are stored in the local app container. Before removing data, make sure you no longer need it; the developer cannot restore it from a server.

Where can I download it?

The Mac version is released on the App Store as a free download and requires macOS 14 or later. The iPhone and iPad versions are still in review and are distributed through Apple TestFlight for now; their release date has not been announced. Open the Mac App Store Open TestFlight
